The knowledge of the psychic is a prerequisite for practicing psychology. At the same time, every psychological praxis seeks to understand concrete psychic phenomena. As a primary issue, everyday discourse assumes this matter has been resolved, and numerous definitions abound. However, practicing psychologists not only demonstrate a certain crisis of professional identity but also navigate their understanding and work in uncertainty.
The speaker, a social psychologist, does not find possibilities for answers within the confines of this science. It is necessary to inject philosophy. Starting from it, problematizing the psychic and philosophically arguing for a response to the nature of the psychic and the object of psychology.
