Abstract

As part of the workshop on National Reality and Areas of Application of Psychology, held on July 10th, 11th, and 12th at the facilities of the School of Psychological Sciences, Metropolitan University Center, aimed at the teachers of this academic unit, various specialists intervened, sharing diverse perspectives on the national reality. The objective of this workshop was to reflect on the research lines of the School of Psychological Sciences, through discussing the broader context that influences the discipline's research. Dr. Manolo Vela participated in the workshop, offering highly relevant insights for a moment of political crisis like the one being experienced since the 2023 general elections, the unexpected results that lead the Semilla movement to the second round, and the reaction of the so-called 'pact of corrupts'. Dr. Vela presents historical and political aspects that allow a comprehensive understanding of this situation. Given the importance of his presentation, the transcription and editing of the conference were carried out, and in order to be included in the Research Journal of the School of Psychological Sciences, it was also reviewed by the author.
