the study presented seeks to evaluate the behavioral functioning of the Theory of Mind, perceived by the parents of children with low IQ and its relationship with the functioning of the Orbitomedial Cortex. The study and approach of both variables can represent an effective way of influencing the development of social skills, as a protective or preventive factor against the latent risk of getting involved in criminal actions. By means of convenience sampling, data from 21 participants (16 boys and 5 girls) were collected using observation, interview, Neuropsychological assessment and an assessment of behavioral functioning of Theory of Mind. For this purpose, the BANFE and KBIT tests and the Theory of Mind Inventory 2 (ToMI 2) were used. The main findings include a poor development of the Theory of Mind, as well as severe alteration in the functioning of the Orbitomedial Cortex and the positive correlation between both. The results found allow us to conclude that children with an IQ below the norm present deficiencies in the functioning of both variables.
