Dr. Mario Colli Alonzo, of Spanish and Italian descent, born in Cuba and holding Guatemalan citizenship, received his undergraduate and postgraduate training at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Havana and practiced at the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana, specifically in the Specialized Treatment Department (DETE), Alcoholism and Addictions Group, Cuba. Upon residing in Guatemala, he has developed an extensive private practice in the field of psychotherapy and teaching, both at the School of Psychological Sciences, USAC, and at training centers of other universities. Furthermore, during his studies, he engaged in exchange processes in psychology between Cuba, Latin America, the United States, and Europe. He has published several books and articles in journals from different countries. Given his training and practice, mainly in Cuba and Guatemala, it is of interest to explore and compare the education and professional work in both countries. Therefore, this interview is published in this issue of the magazine.
